After spending 17 arduous years working in Investment Banking, an industry that was stifling my creative soul, I knew it was time for a change. That much-needed change occurred when my husband, Sachin, convinced me to apply to go on the BBC’s MasterChef UK. Despite feeling out of my depth, I applied for the show and got on, coming away with the title of Semi-Finalist 2018! My modern approach to Indian cooking got noticed and, following the show, I was asked to cater for several private dinner parties.
Juggling working at the bank and cooking at weekends, I worked hard to set up my brand and my private dining business really started to take off. It was then I decided to take the plunge, hand in my notice at the bank and started to live my dream by doing what I love best – cooking. My chic and stylish London café Nourish by Nisha is a little window into my kitchen at home. It’s the breakfasts I make on lazy Sunday mornings. It’s those leisurely Saturday lunches with the family. It’s the dinners I bash together on weeknights. Everything on the menu is the food I cook and serve to my family. Nourish is a reflection of me. Welcome to my everyday.
